Aug 21, 2011 · I have a stock Ford aluminum intake that I want to block off the exhaust crossover with block fill to keep heat away from the carb being the primary benefit (also has a minor leak). This should help keep the carb from boiling over down here in FLA. Will the block fill withstand the exhaust heat from the ports at the head where it meets the intake?
Jan 04, 2007 · My theory is that, without the factory heat riser valve which blocks one side exhaust manifold until warm up and directs heat across the intake manifold to the other side, you don't get a lot of exhaust heat to the intake anyways. So, if you plan to run headers, it probably doesn't matter whether you block the crossover or not.
